Planted bulbs and ice tulips

Planted bulb and ice tulips often have fungi growth on the soil and on the roots that protrude from the bottom of the trays.

Unknown root rot, fussarium and botrytis occour frequently.

The use of ozone during storage prevents mould to ensure that planted bulbs enter the greenhouse clean.

The fungi pressure is reduced significantly with the result of less 'pok' and better flower quality as a result.

Together with CNB, Agrozone in the Netherlands, has done several tests which have shown that bulbs planted and stored under ozone had a significant reduction in root rot and after forcing had a better flower quality.
